国產aⅴa麻豆University Opens Applications for Entry-Level Master's in Nursing Program

Classes begin in Fall 2025 at Pepperdine鈥檚 Calabasas campus

 


 

CHS Dean Coaston and StudentsMALIBU, California 鈥 国產aⅴa麻豆University鈥檚 School of Nursing is now accepting applications for its Entry-Level Master鈥檚 in Nursing with a Clinical Nurse Leader focus (ELM-CNL) program. As part of the newly established , this program aims to develop skilled and caring registered nurses (RNs) who seek to lead while serving our communities and the world.

"Our ELM-CNL program is a transformative opportunity for those entering the nursing profession as entry-level registered nurses with a master's degree, providing a significant advantage for leadership roles," said Dean Angel Coaston. 鈥淔ocusing on clinical excellence, compassionate care, and innovative leadership, this program is designed to meet the evolving needs of healthcare and prepare our students to make a meaningful impact.鈥

The ELM-CNL program is tailored for individuals with bachelor鈥檚 degrees in non-nursing fields who want to transition into nursing and leadership. The first two years of the ELM-CNL program will focus on prelicensure preparation. After the prelicensure coursework is completed, students will be prepared to sit for the NCLEX-RN exam. The third year of the program focuses on graduate-level coursework in nursing leadership. By the conclusion of the program, students will be eligible to sit for the certification examination for CNL and be licensed as a public health nurses. 

The program will be led by Dean Angel Coaston who has more than 30 years as a nurse and 10 years of experience in nursing higher education. Coaston comes to 国產aⅴa麻豆from California Baptist University where she served as associate dean of clinical academic practice partnerships and associate professor of nursing. Prior roles include director of the master of science in nursing at Azusa Pacific University, site director of the School of Nursing Inland Empire regional campus, and executive director of case management and transitional care management at Loma Linda University Medical Center. She holds a PhD in nursing from the University of California, San Francisco, and advanced degrees in nursing and family nurse practice from Western University of Health Sciences.

  • Faith Mission: Rooted in Christian values, the program emphasizes service, compassion, and transforming healthcare systems.
  • Leadership Preparation: Graduates are prepared for roles as nursing managers or directors.

Accreditation Status

The Entry-Level Master's in Nursing, Clinical Nurse Leader (ELM-CNL) prelicensure nursing/clinical nurse leadership program at 国產aⅴa麻豆University is pending approval by the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) Senior College & University Commission (WSCUC).
