Seaver First-Year Parking Frequently Asked Questions

What on-campus parking areas may I utilize if I have an FY - First Year parking permit?

FY - First Year parking permits allow for parking in designated locations in the following areas:

  • Designated areas of the Drescher Parking Structure (Parking Lot Q);
  • Designated areas of the Drescher Lots (Parking Lots R and S); and
  • Lower Benton Way (Street Parking).

Are the FY - First Year designated parking areas subject to change?

Yes. As we continue to evaluate our campus’ parking needs, the number of designated spaces in each location may be recalibrated as appropriate. In such an event, messages will be sent to students, parking lot signage will be adjusted accordingly, and the Department of Public Safety website will be updated.

Are there any periods of time where FY - First Year parking permit holders may park in other on-campus parking lots?

Yes. Vehicles with the FY - First Year parking permit may, unless otherwise specified, park in all legal campus parking areas between Friday at 3 PM through Sunday at 3 PM.

Can I walk to-and-from my designated parking area and student residences?

Yes. First-year parking areas are within walking distance of student residences. Students may also use campus shuttles to more quickly reach these areas.

Why are the FY - First Year designated parking areas generally distanced from student residences?

Due to enrollment and ongoing construction to create additional parking, more than 200 fewer parking spaces will be available in areas traditionally utilized by students during the fall 2021 term. ¹ú®aa¢¥aÂ鶹seeks to maximize available parking and take advantage of historically underutilized parking areas. As first-year Seaver College residential students live on campus, they most often walk, or use campus shuttles, to access other areas of campus, limiting their need to drive or move their cars. In light of this, and to facilitate parking availability in areas of higher demand, first-year designated parking areas will generally rest within portions of the Drescher Graduate Campus. Students can still reach their parking areas on foot, and campus shuttles are available to more quickly access these areas.

Can I use ride-hailing and food delivery services on campus?

Yes. Use of these services is encouraged on campus at any time.

Where can I find additional information about the University’s shuttle service?

Additional information, including operating hours, routes, and frequency of service, can be found here.

Who can I contact with questions about parking on campus?

Please contact the Department of Public Safety at parking@pepperdine.edu or 310.506.4700 with any on-campus parking questions.
